: “You Are My Lover Friend” is an urban romance series adapted from a novel of the same name. It is directed by Zhang Tong (“You Are My Hero”, "Light Chaser Rescue"), and stars Zhang Xincheng (“My Huckleberry Friends”, “The Day of Becoming You”) and Wang Yuwen ("A Lonely Hero’s Journey", “Tiger and Crane”).
During their three years in high school, Jiang Shiyan (played by Zhang Xincheng) and Tang Yang (played by Wang Yuwen) developed a deep "brotherly bond". Now, Tang Yang is transferred back to the Rongcheng branch of Huishang Bank as the Deputy Director of the Credit Review Department, where her boss Gan Yiming constantly makes things difficult for her. But against all odds, she approves the micro loan application of "Zhilan’s Braise". As the founder of Yixiu Delicacies, Jiang Shiyan secretly helps Tang Yang through his influence in the food media field. When her boss Gan Yiming harasses Tang Yang under the guise of drunkenness, Jiang Shiyan physically assaults him. The two begin to question that they might be more than just "good bros". Amid ambiguous doubts, Jiang Shiyan is hospitalized for appendicitis, and Tang Yang takes care of him meticulously. The two finally become lovers, but those around them find it hard to believe that the two long-time friends could really fall in love, causing various misunderstandings.
