Set during the reign of Emperor Qianlong, the story follows the young girl Wei Yingluo (played by Wu Jinyan) who enters the palace as a maid to investigate the truth behind her elder sister's death. She discovers that her sister's demise is related to the reckless Prince Hongzhou. Seeking justice on her own, Yingluo receives warmth and support from Empress Fucha (played by Qin Lan), who fears that Yingluo might stray from the right path. With the Empress's guidance, Yingluo grows into a righteous and strong palace lady, eventually letting go of her grudges. After the Empress's death, Yingluo overcomes various challenges to fulfill the Empress's last wishes, ultimately becoming the esteemed Consort Ling during the flourishing period of Emperor Qianlong's reign.
