Description

: In the mid-Ming Dynasty, eunuchs held power, and the people lived in misery. Due to a mysterious imperial edict, Eastern Sea General Zhou Huaian escorts the orphaned girl Qu Ling to Dragon Gate Inn on Dragon Gate Island, waiting to hand her over as per the decree on the Ghost Festival. At the inn, figures from all walks of life gather, creating an undercurrent of intrigue. The East and West Bureaus take turns scheming, the innkeeper Jin Xiangyu probes with various tactics, and the assassin Qiu Moyan stirs the pot, making Zhou Huaian increasingly uncertain about the mission's true purpose. As the Ghost Festival approaches, the island’s age-old blood curse resurfaces, revealing the mystery of an elixir of immortality. Director Feng of the East Bureau, driven by greed for the elixir, plans to kill Qu Ling. Will Zhou Huaian succumb to the ambitions of the ruthless Director Feng for family glory, or will he uphold his sense of justice and rise in defiance? A life-and-death battle between good and evil unfolds.
