Description

: Chen Zhen (played by Zhang Zhizhou) and his sister Chen Juan (played by Jin Zi) are left orphaned and wander the streets of Shanghai. When they are almost beaten to death, they are rescued by Huo Yuanjia (played by Huang Yan). Later, Chen Zhen becomes Huo Yuanjia's disciple and joins the Jingwu Alliance. With the help of Huo Yuanjia's friend Nong Jinsun (played by Li Yiming), Chen Zhen attends school. He practices martial arts with Huo Dongge (played by Shang Bohan) and studies literature with Huo Dongqing (played by Wu Kunling). Chen Zhen excels in his studies and earns the opportunity to study abroad in Japan. While abroad, he learns of Huo Yuanjia's death and immediately returns to Shanghai to investigate, discovering that his master was poisoned. Chen Zhen defeats the masters at the Hongkou Dojo, proving that Chinese people are not the "Sick Men of East Asia," bringing pride to Chinese martial arts. Ultimately, Chen Zhen engages in a life-or-death battle with Tian Yong (played by Shi Shang), the Japanese officer responsible for his master's death. He avenges his master and then dedicates himself to the revolutionary cause, promoting the spirit of martial arts and striving to save the Chinese nation.
