Autobiography: ""A Passionate Life"" as Xie Feng
""A Passionate Life"" was my first drama out of school. It was called ""Father and Son in the City"" at first, but because the set was located in Wanquan Village, which was very far away, the students were reluctant to go. Later, the drama became popular and many students began to ride their bicycles to find shoots, hoping to encounter a good drama like I did at the beginning. At that time I just understood how to act. I was an auto mechanic, then went to the military, and then came back to repair cars. And then the factory began to lay off staff, I began to think about my future. The result of the thinking took my parents by surprise because a mechanic with only a middle-school level education wanted to go to do art. And my family's economic situation at that time was so poor. I remember when I went to Beijing to take the exam. I lived in the basement. Because I couldn't afford to buy a pot, my mom could only cook for me in a teapot every day. Then I would bring back two steamed buns from school and a meal would be complete. When I finally received my acceptance letter from the Chinese opera, the family was silent. They weren't happy or sad. There was only a heavy silence for how my tuition fees were going to be paid and whether I could succeed in the future. When I said goodbye, my little sister gave me a small red envelope and asked me to open it after I got on the bus. When I opened it, there was a hundred dollars and a note that read: ""'Brother, no matter whether you can succeed in the future, please don't forget that there are still your loved ones in the distance who are looking forward to your success and firmly supporting you. Home is your eternal harbor!"" "
