Deng Jie, born on October 22, 1957 in Chengdu, Sichuan, is a Chinese film and television actress and producer. She is a central committee member of the Chinese Democratic Progressive Party (DPP). In 1973, she was admitted into Sichuan Opera School in Sichuan Province. In 1987, she became well-known to the Chinese audience through her role as Wang Xifeng in the TV series “Dream of Red Mansions”. In 1987, she won the Best Supporting Actress award in the 4th Golden Eagle Awards and the Flying Asparas Award, and the First Top Ten Actors award in the Flying Asparas Award. In 1996, she won the Best Supporting Actress award in the 14th Golden Eagle Awards.
